Among the failures of taking pictures and turning on the flash, we usually repair the flash malfunction firstly. The flash is the flash light which is used for taking photoes. Irregularities in the iPhone 6 flash will result in the failure of taking photos. If you repair the malfunction on flash in priority, you can find the cause of the problem soon; If you focus on the malfunction of no pictures first, you would take a lot of detours and even can't find the cause of the trouble.

Checking the circuit diagram of flash control chip U1602 and power supply on D1 pin, A2 pin, and B2 pin (as shown in Pic 4-43).The D1 pin, A2 pin, and B2 pin are connected to the inductor L1605. Then power on and measure the voltage value of L1605 pin, the voltage value is normal. The physical location of L1605 is shown in Pic 4-44.

When the power supply of flash control chip is normal, measuring the D2 pin, E2 pin, and 1²C bus on the flash control chip. By viewing the PCB spot bitmap, it is find that 1²C bus on flash control chip is connected to the CPU (see Pic 4-45). And connected to main camera connector J2321 through the inductors FL233, FL2329 (see Pic 4-46).

Measuring the voltage of 1²C bus, we find that voltage values of two pins on FL2331 are 0V. The FL2331 is the data line of AP_TO_RCAM_I2C_SCL.Pull-up by resistor R0704, as shown in Pic 4-47. The physical location of R0704 is shown in Pic 4-48.

The voltage value of 1 pin on R0704 is measured to be 1.8V. Then power off, the ground impedance value of 2 pin on R0704 is measured to be around 400, and the resistance value of R0704 is also normal. The ground impedance value is normal, the pull-up power supply is normal, and the resistance value is also normal. It is find that the problem is the chip connected to the AP_TO_RCAM_I2C_SCL signal that pulls down the voltage. The AP_TO_RCAM_I2C_SCL signal is connected to the flash control chip and the CPU. Replace the flash control chip directly according to the malfunction of the machine. After the replacement, power on and measure the voltage value of FL2331 is 1.8V which is normal. Put the board into the assembly and boot to enter the system to test camera function, it is back to normal, as shown in Pic 4-49.
